The State of eBook Sales – Independent Publishers Versus the Big 5

The State of eBook Sales – Independent Publishers Versus the Big 5

I just came across a very fascinating article by Hugh Howey that illustrates in detail the current state of ebook sales among publishers. Here’s the direct link. The data was collected from public websites (including Amazon) and is available for download so you can see the raw facts.

Two results struck me the most. First, the Big 5 are making a killing off of ebook sales, while their authors are not! Independent authors are making much more than their Big 5 counterparts. Second, I was amazed at the dominance ebooks are having on the overall publishing world.

If you are an author, you ought to take a look at this article. If you are a reader of ebooks, you too should examine this article. I found it fascinating and educational.

I’m quite pleased that I switched from publishing with the Big 5 when the ebook technology began years ago. I’ve never gone back and certainly won’t now.

Attention You Bloggers Out There

Hi,

Do you have a blog? Have a place to post book reviews? If so, read on.

If you already own one of my ebooks, whether it is a computer ebook or novel, how about writing a blog review of the book or books for me? If you do and link to my site (perhaps directly to that book’s promo page), then I will give you your choice of another ebook to thank you.

If you don’t already own one of my ebooks and would like to review one or more and write a blog review on it(them) including a link to my site, I’ll send you the ebook to review at no cost to you.

Here’s a golden opportunity to add to your library of books.

Thanks,
Vic

Hello Everyone

Hi Everyone,

Here’s our new www.Broquard-eBooks.com website!

It’s a drastic change in website design and I hope you like the new look as much as I do. It is many times easier for me to maintain and is supposed to be setup to be viewed on any device, including mobile ones too.

Some things have changed. For previous book buyers, the biggest change is that there is no longer a way to log in and download books that you previously purchases. That old log in-pw system is gone. If you need to re-download an ebook, contact me via email. See the Buyer’s Guide for more details. So yes, you can still re-download the books that you have purchased in the past.

In case you are interested, the site uses cookies, since I just couldn’t modernize the old database version. Okay, I know, everyone uses cookies these days, lol.
